There’s just something about being near the water that calms the brain and lifts the spirit. At the Lilac Lakehouse, you don’t just get a view—you get your own private dock, built for lake days, slow mornings, and splash-filled adventures.
This is where early risers go to sip coffee and watch the sun spill across the cove. It’s where kids (and kids-at-heart) spend lazy hours dipping toes, spotting minnows, or jumping in with a laugh. It’s where you paddle out into total quiet, float without a care, or share golden-hour drinks with your favorite people.
No crowds. No noise. Just you, the sky, and the soft lapping of the lake.
The dock is more than a feature—it’s a feeling. A little corner of calm where you can be as active or as still as you like. Whether you're gearing up for a paddleboarding adventure or winding down after dinner, this space was made to bring you closer to the water—and to the moment.
Let’s take a look at everything waiting for you down at the dock:
The dock is set on a quiet cove of Lake Ontario, meaning the water here is often calm and peaceful—perfect for beginners, families, and anyone just looking to float their worries away.
Here’s what’s waiting for you:
Four paddle boards, available to use anytime
A ladder for easy swimming access
Room to sit, stretch, or lay out with a towel and a book
Space to dock a small boat (be sure to check local water levels ahead of time—we’re happy to help you plan)
Swimming: The water here is clean and refreshingly cool, especially during summer. The calm surface makes it ideal for kids and cautious swimmers. Just walk out, climb down the ladder, and float.
Paddleboarding: Grab a board from the rack, pick up a lifejacket from the deck box, and head out for a peaceful paddle. Early mornings are especially magical—mist on the water, birds overhead, and maybe a heron or two on the shoreline.
Fishing: Bring your own rod and tackle! The dock is a lovely spot to cast a line and see what bites. (Tip: early evening is best.)
Bringing a boat? We’ve got space to dock, but we recommend checking in with us first about water levels and depth. While it’s usually smooth sailing, lake conditions can shift from season to season.
We’ve made it easy to go from lake to lounge:
Large lake towels are available in the lower lounge bathroom—ready to grab before you head outside
Lifejackets are stored in the deck box near the paddle boards
Please return all gear to its place after use so the next guest can enjoy just as easily
The dock isn’t just for daytime fun. Come evening, it becomes one of the best seats in the house. Bring a drink, bring a blanket, and settle in as the sun dips into the lake. No agenda. No screen. Just the soft sound of water and a wide-open sky.
One Final Note
Please use caution when the dock is wet—it can be slippery. We also ask guests to avoid diving, as water levels vary and safety comes first. Children should always be supervised near the water.
Whether you’re out for a paddle, in for a swim, or just hanging out lakeside with your people, the dock is your front-row seat to peace. It’s not just a place to play—it’s a place to slow down. And isn’t that what a great getaway is all about.
