Gentle reminders to help you feel at home and keep the space happy for everyone who stays after you.
We want your stay at the Lilac Lakehouse to feel relaxing, joyful, and carefree—from the moment you walk in to the moment you (reluctantly) leave. These house rules aren’t here to stress you out. They’re just a handful of helpful reminders to keep the space beautiful, safe, and welcoming for everyone who calls it home, even if just for a few days.
Think of them less like rules—and more like little nudges toward kindness and good vibes. Ready?
Check-in: After 4:00 PM
Check-out: By 10:00 AM
You’ll get your smart lock code the morning of arrival. If we can offer a flexible check-in or late checkout, we absolutely will—just reach out.
We don’t expect a spotless deep clean, but before you go, please:
Load dishes into the dishwasher
Take garbage and recycling out to the bins
Place used towels in the hampers
Double-check for personal belongings
Accidents happen—if anything breaks or malfunctions, just let us know. We’re here to help.
No smoking or vaping inside. Outdoors is fine—just use the ashtrays provided and be mindful of windy days.
We love furry friends, but this home stays pet-free to ensure it’s allergy-friendly for all our guests.
Between 10 PM and 8 AM, we keep things low-key. The lake carries sound farther than you'd think, and we want everyone to rest easy—guests, neighbours, and nesting birds included.
Fire pit and pizza oven are all yours—please use safely:
Always monitor flames
Let ashes cool overnight before disposal
Use dry firewood (bundles available in the shop)
You’ll find detailed how-to’s in the house guide.
Personal flotation devices are provided—please use them when paddle boarding or for kids on the dock.
Always supervise little ones near water.
No diving, and no swimming at night (trust us—it's darker than it looks).
Check water levels before docking a boat.
We follow County guidelines:
Green bin for compostables
Blue bin for recyclables
Clear bag for regular garbage
And if you’ve got bottles or cans, toss them into the “Empties” bin to help support the local Humane Society.
Stick to the number of guests on your booking. If you want to host a visitor or small event, reach out—we’re happy to chat.
That’s it—nothing wild or complicated. Just the basics so this space stays as special for the next guests as it was for you.
If you ever feel unsure, just ask. We're always happy to clarify, walk you through a feature, or send over a reminder list if you're packing up early with a coffee in one hand and a toddler in the other.
Thanks for treating the Lilac Lakehouse with the same kindness we poured into creating it. We hope you leave feeling even more relaxed than when you arrived.
