Every group trip needs one solid games night—the kind that turns friendly until someone gets too competitive in charades, or ends in a roaring laugh that echoes through the whole house. Whether you're into strategy games, card classics, or party-style chaos, the Lilac Lakehouse was built for nights like this.
Here, it’s not about winning (unless you're really into winning). It’s about carving out a night with your favourite people, a few snacks, and zero pressure to be anywhere else. And best of all? You’ve got more than one perfect place to play.
We don’t stock a full board game library, but we do have the space, vibe, and surfaces to host the ultimate games night. So pack your favourites: think Uno, Codenames, Cards Against Humanity, Scrabble, Settlers of Catan, or a stack of cozy puzzle pieces.
If you're traveling with kids, bring their go-tos—this house was designed with room for everyone to spread out and play at their own speed.
There’s no one “games room” at the Lakehouse—there are four different spots that lend themselves to a games night, depending on the group size, the mood, and the game.
1. The Downstairs Lounge Games Table
Let’s start with the obvious choice: our dedicated games table downstairs. It’s set up in the lounge beside the TV and karaoke setup, and it’s ideal for card games, dominoes, or smaller board games where you want to focus and keep things tidy. Great for a quieter or more serious round of strategy while the rest of the group sings their heart out nearby.
2. The Huge Living Room (Main Floor)
If you’re playing something more sprawling—Monopoly, puzzles, code-breaking spy missions—the massive coffee table and open-concept living room give you space to spread out. It’s also a great spot for “sit on the floor in your socks and get loud” energy.
You’ve got full lighting control here too, so dim it down for chill vibes or keep it bright and focused if you’re trying to decode clues.
3. The Panoramic Loft
Want a little privacy with a view? Head upstairs to the panoramic loft—it’s flooded with natural light during the day and feels like a treehouse hideaway at night. Perfect for couples’ game night, journaling between rounds, or sneaking in a “just one more” card game with a lakeview.
This space is often a hidden gem for guests. Bring a blanket, a bottle of wine, and play till everyone’s too cozy to care about who’s winning.
4. Back Downstairs, With Snacks
Many guests end up back in the downstairs lounge with games in one hand and snacks in the other. It’s great for a slightly rowdy, laid-back vibe—especially if you’ve got a group splitting up between karaoke, puzzles, and cards. The lounge lighting can be adjusted to match the energy, and there’s plenty of room to flop, lean, and lounge as you play.
Bring a few games that suit your group’s energy. Pack one that’s quick and silly, one that’s competitive, and something everyone can learn quickly. Don’t forget a deck of cards—they can stretch into a dozen different games in one evening.
If you’re traveling in a group, take turns being “games master” each night. Or theme it: trivia Tuesday, card game Friday, “lose on purpose to the kids” Saturday.
Make snacks easy—cheese, crackers, popcorn, or whatever's leftover from pizza night—and keep drinks within arm’s reach. Music optional, laughter guaranteed.
At the Lilac Lakehouse, there’s no one way to do it. The house is yours—so make it your board game cafe, your puzzle den, your karaoke-and-Klask lounge. Bring your favourites, pick a spot, and let the games begin.
